With 4 distilleries, 5 blending facilities, and 9 warehouses, Greenfield efficiently fulfills more than 35,000 orders in over 50 countries. The company operates a major anaerobic digestion facility that converts 120,000 tons of organic matter annually into renewable natural gas. Headquartered in Toronto, this family-owned company has consistently been recognized at the Platinum level among Canada’s Best Managed Companies since 2015.
This role will:

- Develop global market views through rigorous supply and demand analysis, allowing Greenfield to capture maximum value-add through its optionality, as well as highlight key physical and regulatory constraints (feedstock and product certifications) and provide scenario analysis on areas to create additional value (constraint-busting).
- Build and lead integrated supply and demand planning to optimize commercial returns across multiple time horizons, balancing freight, storage and handling costs and contractual domestic obligations against high-value environmental attributes including Canada’s Clean Fuels Regulation (CFR), Quebec’s Cap-and-Trade System, and others.
- Create tools and reports designed to provide actionable guidance to maximize the "Total Value" of the Greenfield ethanol portfolio by integrating global market analysis with advanced AI modeling.
- Collaborate with internal experts on carbon intensity to understand the CI trajectory of Greenfield’s assets and products as well as the needs of obligated parties in regulated markets
- Support Greenfield’s business development activities by modeling ethanol in non-road applications like marine, heating and emerging products like green methanol and other e-fuels
- Manage the integration of government statistics and 3rd party research into Greenfield databases and decision models
- Continuous improvement of Greenfield’s expanding supply network of truck, rail, marine and terminal options.
- Manage 3rd party market research providers such as Nixal and Clearblue
- Manage internal models to estimate value ranges for carbon markets of interest such as CFR, Canada Domestic Content, California LCFS, BC LCFS, etc.
Who You Are:
- Strategic Optimizer: You look beyond day-to-day operations to determine the most value-added execution plan for the enterprise.
- Technical Architect: You possess the sophisticated AI and model-building knowledge required to build tools that solve complex optimization constraints.
- Market Expert: You have a global view of markets and the sophistication to capture value-add through ethanol and environmental attribute optionality.
- Disciplined Leader: You are a dedicated "business owner" who leads projects with expedient action plans and aligns internal teams for successful implementation.
- Versatile Operator: You are comfortable establishing new scheduling protocols while remaining ready to support all scheduling modes as required.
Your Experience Should Include:
- Industry Tenure: Over 15 years of professional experience, specifically within the energy (oil/gasoline and biofuels) industry and manufacturing operations sectors with an education in engineering, mathematics, or commerce.
**Modelling and AI:**Vast experience of building planning and optimization models and strong utilization of tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python, R, and Matlab, as well as AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.
- Market Mastery: Deep knowledge of Supply/Demand factors for energy, biofuels and environmental attributes for Canada, the US, and the EU.
- Analytical Expertise: Strong ability to compile large and diverse sets of data to present actionable and concise conclusions including the usage of predictive analytics
- Multimodal Logistics: Proven scheduling and optimization experience across Marine, Rail, and Truck.
- Project Leadership: A documented history of successful project management and implementation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Global Market Analytics: Conduct sophisticated biofuels and environmental attributes supply and demand analysis for Canada, the US, and the EU (including Canadian basis, Chicago/USGC/NYH, and T2/T1) to identify market opportunities.
- Tool and Model Development: Create and support advanced models, optimization tools, and integrated planning processes. Develop decision dashboards for various Renewable Energy products and markets with data visualization using technology platforms (AI, PowerBI etc)
- Project development: Collaborate with the Renewable Energy commercial team on internal projects and the coordination of implementation activities.
- Commercial Optimization and Total Value Modeling: Determine the most value-added plan for execution to optimize commercial value within given constraints (freight costs, source of production, contractual constraints, and multiple ethanol qualities).
- Scheduling and Logistics Protocols: Establish scheduling and documentation protocols and processes for Marine cargo transportation in conjunction with the Logistics/Supply Chain Optimization team. Support the team in any future process development and backup support as required, as well as streamlining operations and administrative workflows
