About the role
Job Description We currently have an opening for an Environmental Planner in our Calgary office.
You are a leader, a collaborator and have the ability think critically to solve problems. You have experience with environmental assessments and navigating environmental legislation and environmental communications. You will take on a strong role in project planning and implementation, project management, and client and business development.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams tackling real-world environmental challenges particularly on municipal infrastructure projects in the Calgary area.
- Preparing high quality scientific and technical reports, including permits and regulatory documents.
- Leading projects through a range of federal, provincial, and municipal regulatory processes.
- Engaging in continuous learning and professional development.
Job Requirements
What you will bring:
- Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in a relevant pure or applied science (graduate degree preferred).
- Preference will be given to individuals registered with a professional organization (i.e., ASPB, AIA, etc.) or eligible for registration.
- 3+ years post-graduation experience in environmental consulting with a focus on regulatory and permit delivery.
- A strong understanding of relevant provincial and federal legislation, regulation and permitting processes.
- Leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build and cultivate professional working relationships.
- Excellent communication skills and technical report writing experience.
- Valid Driver's Licence.
