The Brenda Strafford Foundation (BSF) is a charitable organization that currently owns and operates five Aging Care & Senior Living communities in Calgary, AB, and Okotoks, AB. We take pride in providing a safe, caring, and comfortable home environment that caters to the complex needs of our senior residents and families. Locally, in Calgary, BSF also operates Alberta’s largest second-stage shelter providing safe shelter and comprehensive support services to women and children leaving abuse and violence.

The Role:

Role Overview

This is a temporary, on-site position providing initial Tier 1 support and ticket triage for the Brenda Strafford Foundation. The role will focus on password resets, basic troubleshooting, initial ticket review, and escalation to the existing Tier 1 & Tier 2 team. Occasional hardware setup and configuration may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level support for user issues, including account onboarding/offboarding, password resets, and account access management.
  • Perform initial ticket triage and escalate issues to Tier 1 or Tier 2 teams as needed.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting for hardware and software problems.
  • Assist with initial configuration and setup of desktops, laptops, and peripherals when required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of actions taken and ticket status.
  • Ensure adherence to security policies and procedures during all support activities
  • Manage in-stock inventory and office space, updating asset records as required.

Who We're Looking For:

Qualifications

  • Diploma or coursework in Information Technology (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and PC hardware.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory for user account administration.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established escalation processes.
  • Previous help desk or IT support experience is an asset.

In accordance with Alberta's Protection for Persons in Care Act, a criminal record check is required for successful candidates.

As a condition of employment with “BSF”, all new Health Care Worker hires must provide written proof of immunizations for communicable diseases.

The Brenda Strafford Foundation owns and operates four Long Term Care and Assisted Living seniors care facilities in Calgary, AB, and Okotoks, AB, with over 800 beds and approximately 1000 staff.
