Description
Position Description:
- Design and validate production tools and special tools and test equipment (STTE) for heavy off road vehicles
- Coordinate tooling fabrication with local vendors to ensure the deliverables are met
- Coordinate and purchase all parts required for STTE in house prototype fabrication
- Communicate with Engineering and Training Department to develop manufacturing concepts/models
- Establish and maintain interface with Customers and business partners and suppliers
- Manage Customer expectations, evaluate, and determine requirements
- Maintain drawing files and CAD model structure to comply with department procedures
- Maintain Maximo CMM work order and Device control system
- Ensure all safe work procedures and OHSA policies are adhered to for new engineered lift devices, machine guarding and structural tooling/racking
Position Requirements:
- University Degree/College diploma in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Degree, Technologist or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of Manufacturing/Machine Design Experience - Preferred Heavy Tool Design
- Minimum 3-5 years of 3D Modeling/Parametric CAD experience
- Strong knowledge of the application and interpretation of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Strong knowledge ASME/ANSI/AWS standards
- Must have high level of analytical, problem solving and mechanical aptitude skills
- Must have background in heavy metal fabrication, assembly and material handling
- Ability to travel (5% Canadian, 5% US & International) and possess/able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
Preferred Requirements:
- Worked with Team Center Engineering/Manufacturing applications
- Worked within a unionized environment
- Worked with Unigraphics (Siemens NX) CAD software
- Worked with Maximo CMM software
This is a 12 month contract administered through a third party. The pay range for this position is $30.00-$45.00 per hour.
