Private Equity Student Analyst
About the role
Azimuth is seeking two Student Analysts for the Calgary office starting May 2026 and September 2026 respectively. A career in Private Equity is challenging, fast-paced and rewarding. The successful candidates will work directly with members of the investment team gaining an in-depth understanding of the energy sector as well as the financial and operational learnings of growing energy companies.
Job Description
· Broad industry analysis and financial modeling
· Updating and maintaining the company’s energy sector databases
· Evaluating potential portfolio investments
· Supporting operations and reporting responsibilities of the investment platform
· Collecting and analyzing company-specific financial and operating information
· Monitoring portfolio investments
· Various ad-hoc initiatives and data gathering
Qualifications
· Working toward or recently completed a degree in finance, economics, or engineering
· Demonstrated interest in sustainable energy technologies and infrastructure
· Prior work experience in energy and/or energy transition would be considered an asset
· Excellent interpersonal skills and critical thinking abilities
· Advanced presentation preparation and financial modeling skills – strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel
· Handles diverse responsibilities and meets deadlines
· Strong work ethic and motivation
