About College of the Rockies
College of the Rockies is a regional college, with seven campuses throughout the East Kootenay. For more than 40 years, we have provided post-secondary education that meets the needs and aspirations of the people, industry and businesses of our region.
Each year, we welcome more than 2,300 full-time equivalent students into our classrooms. Depending on our students' goals, we offer a number of direct and diverse pathways. Adult upgrading offers a first step towards employment. Students focused on quick and direct entry to the job market may be interested in one of our diploma or certificate programs, vocational training, or trades apprenticeship. Others may take advantage of our university studies courses and various dual admission and transfer options, or complete one of the degrees offered right here at home.
Though our breadth of programming is wide, everyone who attends College of the Rockies can expect to benefit from small class sizes, quality instruction, hands-on learning, low tuition, transferability and a personalized education experience.
We serve a regional population of close to 83,000 people. Each year, we provide instruction in a wide variety of programs to approximately 2000 full-time equivalent (FTE) students including over 100 international (FTE) students from more than 30 countries.
Cranbrook is home to two campuses: our main campus houses the majority of our administrative departments and student services, and our Gold Creek campus which offers contract training and a variety of trades programs.
The programs, courses, and services offered by our five regional campuses (Creston, Fernie, Golden, Invermere and Kimberley) are as diverse as the communities and people they serve. A few have their own "signature" programs -- something unique and special -- and most provide courses in Adult Basic Education. All of our campuses respond to the needs of their communities by offering continuing education courses and access to online learning.
