Labourer Reports To: Foreman Summary The Labourer will be required to perform tasks involving physical labor at projects, and will be required to operate a variety of hand and power tools. Responsibilities will include the cleaning and preparation of work-sites per job requirements. Job Duties General labour and operator duties including but not limited to snow clearing, dewatering, sweeping, recycling, cleaning of work area etc Load, unload and transport construction materials using forklift/telehandler Experience with small tools and manual handling while working at heights Site and work area housekeeping Complete daily paperwork and participate in toolbox talks Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program. Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections. Work Conditions Job requires ability to work with tools and materials. Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs for 50 feet is required. Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. hard-hat, safety boots, etc.) Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. Noise level is generally loud. Able to work on uneven ground Excellent stamina is required. Hazards associated with the construction industry. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
