Role Description The 310T Heavy Truck and Coach Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Gravenhurst, ON. The technician will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy trucks, coaches, and mobile equipment, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspensions, electrical systems, and hydraulic components. Day-to-day tasks include conducting inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic issues, completing preventative maintenance, and ensuring all work meets safety and regulatory standards. The role involves using and maintaining a mobile hydraulic servicing unit, documenting all service work accurately, and communicating clearly with customers and the internal team about findings, repair options, and timelines. The technician is expected to work independently in the field, manage time effectively, and uphold high standards of quality and safety. Qualifications Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician certification (or equivalent) and strong experience with heavy truck and coach repair. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems, including engines, drivetrains, brakes, steering, and suspension on heavy vehicles. Experience with hydraulic systems, including servicing mobile hydraulic units and working with standard and non-conductive hoses. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems on heavy trucks and coaches, including basic wiring, lighting, and related components. Strong understanding of safety practices, regulatory requirements, and shop/field safety procedures for heavy equipment work. Capability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively in field and on-site environments. Good written and verbal communication skills, including accurate completion of service reports and clear customer communication. Proven ability to work independently, manage on-site tasks, and adapt to changing work locations and conditions. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial or higher-class license is an asset. Previous mobile mechanic, fleet maintenance, or heavy equipment service experience is preferred.
