Rainy River Mine Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario. The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.
Applicants who reside in Northwestern Ontario and have experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the Northwest Ontario, are assets. Hiring priority will be given to qualified applicants who are beneficiaries of the Impact Benefits Agreement (IBA) and to qualified applicants residing in the Northwest Ontario communities. About The Role Position: Mobile Maintenance Electrician
Schedule: 7/7 – 12 hour days/nights
Position Reports To: Electrical Supervisor
Position Overview Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the role of the Electrician is to provide quality electrical maintenance, repairs, installation and modifications for mining fleet equipment, mine equipment, buildings, sub stations and transformers.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in safety programs and ensure that all safety standards for electrical maintenance operations are achieved.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental and other policies, procedures and requirements.
- Ensure all electrical systems are operating effectively by following a regular maintenance program.
- Ensure minimal downtime in production schedules by repairing electrical failures promptly and efficiently.
- Execute preventive maintenance activities and work towards reliability excellence.
- Keep accurate maintenance and repair records, ensuring any changes to electrical instruments are accurately documented.
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions and carryout necessary repairs including major component replacement and repair or rebuild.
- Ensure work order discipline requirements within SAP.
Qualifications Education:
- Grade 12 diploma/GED
- Valid Drivers’ License
- Interprovincial Electrician trade certification
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in an industrial environment.
- Komatsu/Caterpillar equipment preferred
- Process Plant equipment
- Mining experience, especially open pit preferred.
- Sub-stations, transformers and powerlines.
- Programable Logic Control an asset.
Other
- Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems
- Possess a strong safety focus and exceptional safety record
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently
- Good computer skills with experience in Computer Maintenance Management software
