Job Description & Requirements
Brandon School Division is currently accepting applications from individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm towards learning and are interested in becoming an Uncertified Substitute Teacher for the 2026/27 school year.
The successful candidates must demonstrate an ability to work with children and have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. They must be willing and able to work as part of a team as well as work independently with little guidance, and present professionally. Preference will be given to those who possess a degree and/or diploma from a recognized institution. Individuals who have experience working with children with diverse needs, coaching, providing childcare, or have been in youth leadership positions are encouraged to apply.
Please refer to important information below:
- Successful candidates will be required to attend a three day unpaid training session, to be held during the summer months. This training must be completed in its entirety in order for you to work as an uncertified substitute teacher.
- As you are not a certified teacher, the Brandon School Division will be required to apply for a Limited Teaching Permit on your behalf. Further details will be provided when they become available.
- Download the Request for Confidential Reference Form from this link. You must complete and sign the top section. Then provide this form to three (3) individuals who will act as references for you; have them complete the form and return it directly to the Brandon School Division at the mailing address or email address on the form.

Employment will be subject to a Criminal Record Check and a Child Abuse Registry Check completed within the four months preceding the date of application with results satisfactory to the Brandon School Division.
