The Town of New Tecumseth is looking for a Permanent Full-Time Senior Facilities Operator.

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Facilities and Property, the Senior Facilities Operator is
responsible for the implementation of all activities associated with facilities operations. This
includes overseeing staff, ensuring the effective delivery services and maintaining a high
standard of customer service excellence within their assigned section.

What we promise:

  • Prepares and monitors staff work schedules for both summer and winter operations, ensuring appropriate coverage and pro-actively addressing scheduling conflicts to meet operational needs.
  • Oversees the delivery of maintenance and operational services for the section as assigned. Ensures facilities areas are clean and that equipment is in proper operational order.
  • Carries out, monitors and records preventative maintenance inspections for building systems in section. Operates, logs, maintains, repairs and adjusts mechanical equipment, and building equipment, including lighting, building automation, cooling, heating, ventilation, pressurized structures, refrigeration, system controls, chemical feed systems, pumping and filtration equipment and life safety systems.
  • Organizes and leads team meetings by preparing agendas and minutes and ensuring timely following up on items to be addressed.
  • In collaboration with the Supervisor, provides input into development of operational programs, procedures and/or Business Unit policies to support a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Ensures payroll information is completed accurately, within required timelines.
  • Performs all duties of operators as required.
  • Works with other staff proactively to address any issues that arise impacting customer service and the state of the facility. Maintains awareness of programming schedules in order to ensure proper scheduling, cleaning and that set ups and take downs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assists the Supervisor in ensuring that employees have been properly trained with regard to health, safety standards and protective equipment as they relate to their jobs, and that these standards are followed.

How you contribute to our organization?

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Certificate or designation pertaining to Recreation/ Facility maintenance, education either at a college level or through an association
  • Standard First Aid and CPR C
  • ORFA Basic Refrigeration or equivalent
  • ORFA Certified Pool Operator or equivalent
  • ORFA Certified Ice Technician or equivalent
  • Must have G Class driver’s licence, and ability to provide clean driver’s abstract
  • Ability to provide a clear vulnerable sector check

Salary: 69,012.84 to 86,260.72
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: New Tecumseth Recreation Centre
