The Coordinator of Curriculum and Educational Technology works directly with students and staff in both elementary and secondary schools under the guidance and support of the Director of Teaching and Learning. The Coordinator of Curriculum and Educational Technology must think on their feet, problem solve on the spot, and work flexibly and collaboratively to create an environment that supports curriculum and the successful application and use of technology.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Education Degree
- Ability and proficiency with a variety of educational technology applications, including Google Apps
- Expertise in the area(s) of technology
- Familiarity with Alberta curriculum
- Effective organizational skills
- Ability to build strong relationships
- Experience in facilitating professional learning and development for staff
- Demonstrates commitment to collaborative practice and teamwork
- Ability to be self-directed is essential
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- Proven school-based leadership
- Knowledge of budget monitoring and management
- Understanding of Division policies and practices would be an asset
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Direct reporting to the Director of Teaching and Learning
- Collaborate in the development and facilitation of the Educational Technology Framework
- Support the implementation of the new Science and Social Studies curriculum
- Develop and facilitate strategies to provide authentic and meaningful computer science opportunities at all FMPSD high schools
- Manage Coordinator's Corner and keep updated the curriculum within
- Support inclusive programming using hardware such as iPads, Chromebooks, and laptops and software such as Read&Write for Google Chrome™, Equatio® for Google, and Lexia
- Provide professional development regarding educational technology and new curriculum during PLFs and Division PD days as well as in the classroom and after school
- Other duties as assigned
