Using forecasts of future demand and continual re-optimization of fares, in-depth analysis and market strategy, the Revenue Management team balances guest promise with supply and demand. Revenue Management is a blend of art and science that requires the combination of strategic thinking and business acumen and an acute ability to make high impact decisions.

-
Responsible for developing, leading, and executing complex financial and strategic revenue management initiatives to support department and corporate initiatives and projects to directly enhance revenue and profitability throughout the WestJet and WestJet Encore route network
-
Analyze changes in market conditions such as capacity, competition, schedules and inventory to develop, implement and track appropriate forecast and seat inventory strategies with the objective to achieve and exceed PRASM targets
-
Extract and manipulate large data sets to regularly analyze competitive landscape, devise strategies and evaluate results

-
Assist in implementing business process changes and new reporting
-
Other duties as assigned
Experience and qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree (Business / Quantitative Economics / Math / Statistics / Engineering / Computer Science)
-
1-5 years in an analytical role or role incorporating business decision making in a fast-paced environment
-
Experience with Microsoft Excel, MS Office, PROS or other Revenue Management system, DDS, SRS Analyzer, Sabre, Infare considered an asset
-
Experience with Tableau, Cognos, SQL, Oracle, VBA, Cognos, Python, R, SAS and other analysis tools considered an asset
-
Business Acumen: Excellent communication and presentation skills and a unique ability to bridge the communication gap between executive and front-line audiences. Able to effectively translate big ideas and complex market-based developments into digestible sound bites for executives as well as analysts
-
Understanding and application of principles, concepts and practices of Pricing and RM (revenue management) theory
-
Have a strong attention to detail and regularly make complex decisions with limited information on short timeframes. Comfortably deal with uncertain outcomes in a highly complex and rapidly changing environment. Able to work effectively alone and in a group environment
-
Actively scour the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for WestJet to enhance its product delivery and guest promise. Identify risks to the flight management and pricing strategy and proactively manage these risks through strategy modification and creative idea generation
-
This role blends strategic analysis, business intuition, creative thinking and project leadership to work in cross-functional work groups to come to a decision on projects; the role also provides support for strategic, financial modeling and valuation of projects, working closely with others to define requirements, scope, workflow and problem assessment to arrive at solid business recommendations
