##Overview of Role
The Intermediate Developer is responsible for designing and developing code, verifying, testing, documenting, amending, and refactoring moderately complex programs, scripts, and integration software services that meet user needs following best-practice guidelines. This role collaborates closely with Data Engineering, DevOps, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and product engineering teams.
##Key Deliverables and Responsibilities
- Develop clean, secure, and well-tested code with appropriate error handling
- Coach and mentor junior colleagues
- Operate the services they build and identify issues in production
- Improve system robustness, resilience, and stability
- Participate in and lead workshops, presentations, and training sessions
- Work with business stakeholders to define functional and design specifications for new features or products
- Provide accurate development effort, complexity, and risk estimates
- Translate logical designs into physical designs
- Produce detailed designs and documentation using required standards, methods, and tools
- Contribute to selecting appropriate software development approaches, including predictive and agile methods
- Participate in and lead reviews of own work and colleagues’ work
- Collaborate with quality assurance partners to validate requirements and resolve defects
- Perform unit and component testing, including functional and non-functional testing support
- Monitor service capacity and initiate corrective actions; contribute to capacity planning
- Document system components, interfaces, and contribute to release notes
- Work with operational partners to ensure supportability of new features and timely production support
- Design systems with medium levels of risk, impact, and complexity
- Coordinate cross-system build and integration testing activities
- Troubleshoot production and non-production issues and provide resolutions
##Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of experience preferred, or 5+ years of combined education and experience
-
Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and Azure DevOps
-
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps methodologies
-
Experience managing service components to meet business and performance needs
-
Expert problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
-
Experience identifying and implementing process optimization opportunities
-
Understanding of process efficiency and optimization techniques
-
Hands-on experience improving development processes and identifying deficiencies
-
Broad understanding of information security controls and mitigation approaches
-
Experience reviewing specifications and designing, coding, testing, and documenting medium-to-high complexity solutions

Experience building and testing system interfaces and integrations
-
Ability to prioritize and analyze user stories and recommend appropriate tools and methods
-
Strong understanding of prototyping techniques and their value

Experience remediating faults following established procedures

Appropriate licenses and certifications

Experience developing user-facing applications with Vue.js or Flutter is an asset

Experience with databases and SQL is an asset

Experience with Microsoft Azure PaaS and SaaS technologies

Experience with Microsoft App Services Fabric and Azure API Management
