About the role
One of our manufacturing clients is looking for a Buyer at Niagara Falls, ON region for their facility.
Pay Rate: $75k - $80k
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage sourcing strategies to meet business needs. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met. Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make strategic purchasing decisions. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production planning to ensure timely procurement. Manage vendor relationships, including performance reviews, audits, and compliance checks. Lead cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiation, alternative sourcing, and process improvements. Collaborate with internal departments such as Engineering, Production, and Finance to align procurement strategies. Prepare and issue purchase orders and manage the full purchase lifecycle. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data. Resolve supply chain issues such as shortages, delivery delays, or quality discrepancies. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and government regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards). Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional certification (e.g., CPP, CPSM, or SCMP) is an asset.
