About the role
Summary Reporting to the Corporate SOX Manager, the Corporate SOX Coordinator will be responsible for driving Internal Controls over Financial Reporting processes for Enerflex, which includes understanding the overall financial environment, coordinating documentation, scoping and testing of processes and controls, assisting in the remediation of any deficiencies, assisting management in the design of key controls, and providing controls guidance for process and system changes. This role will provide guidance on SOX compliance to regional finance and operational teams in all Enerflex operating regions and provide reporting to the SOX Steering Committee and Audit Committee.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Serve as a primary Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 (SOX) liaison between the Internal Audit & SOX team and the global functions and business units. Interface with department personnel to ensure that SOX objectives, deliverables and timelines are met.
- Maintain, administer and lead enhancements to Audit Board SOXHUB for the company-wide SOX Program.
- Project manage the SOX program including maintaining control and risk information, monitoring and reporting the status of internal and external testing, tracking the status of gaps and remediation actions and escalating issues to management.
- Coordinate and maintain management’s process controls documentation and review controls regularly to ensure adequate design and recommend ways to rationalize and optimize controls.
- Develop and execute detailed control test plans and evaluate results in line with SOX standards and audit requirements.
- Keep abreast of SEC, IFRS, and other regulatory and technical guidance and regulations as it pertains to SOX and other related activities and perform applicable evaluation in line with standards for technically complex areas (i.e. Revenue Recognition, Purchase Accounting, Lease Accounting, etc.).
- Support the preparation of material, presentations, and other documentation as required for SOX Steering Committee and Audit Committee meetings.
- Assist in providing and organizing training on internal controls.
- Maintain the annual SOX financial statement mapping, risk assessment and scoping process to ensure adequate scope and testing of the Company’s financial statements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and CPA certification is required.
- 5+ years of experience in financial reporting or internal/external auditing.
- Prior SOX 404 experience mandatory.
- Prior Audit Board experience is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Detail oriented.
- Strong project management skills and experience with an ability to manage multiple priorities, work in a fast-paced environment, consistently achieve objectives and meet timelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Strong ability to manage and adapt to change.
- Strong team player as well as ability to work well independently.
- Ability to travel to our operating regions.
