About the role

Overview

The RDKB is seeking applications to fill a permanent, full‐time Planner position in the Planning and Development Department team. Reporting to the Current Planning Supervisor, the Planner is primarily responsible for processing current applications and provincial referrals and providing customer service responding to a variety of planning questions from the public and development community. This position is occasionally required to work outside of regular working hours for public engagement.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Bachelor degree from a recognized university in Planning or related discipline Minimum of one year of experience in a planning office preferably with a local government Eligible for membership with the Planning Institute of British Columbia or the Canadian Institute of Planners Proficient skills with Microsoft suite programs, with the ability to learn and become proficient in new software Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 35 - 37.5 hours per week (summer/winter schedule)

Compensation: $45.59/hr (2025 rates)
