As the Senior 3D Technical Specialist, you advocate for digital use by creating and disseminating 3D design processes and best practice across the Product Creation teams. You are the catalyst for leveraging 3D software and you continuously improve our 3D libraries. You create opportunities to partner and build relationships with designers and cross-functional teams. This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The Inline Digital team is a hub in the 3D creation workflow at Arc’teryx. We are an integrated team that creates industry leading digital assets for internal and external partners and brings digital capability and expertise to the forefront of our product creation process. We are a creative, innovative group that streamlines workflows, creating efficiencies and new opportunities in the development and commercialization processes all the way through to buy-in.
If you were a Senior 3D Technical Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

Creating digitally accurate representations of physical assets, materials and trims
-
Applying surface design details, including material textures and trims to 3D renderings and support in revisions as needed
-
Supporting in the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all 3D libraries (materials, trims, avatars, poses, blocks, etc.)

Providing best practice knowledge for advanced renderings; creating and maintaining render scenarios, including lighting
-
Maintaining industry knowledge; continuously discovering, evaluating and sharing other advanced digital creation technologies in support of design and company objectives

Implementing CLO3D within the apparel product design and development workflow
-
Leading the onboarding of new users and sharing of best practices, providing advanced 3D design, visualization and prototyping tools and training
-
Creating checkpoints throughout the asset creation process to ensure asset compliance and sign off by the appropriate partner

Identifying opportunities to reduce sampling through the use of 3D technology

Upholding Fair Labour Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain.

Are you our next Senior 3D Technical Specialist?

You have a degree/diploma in design, graphic arts, or a similar field
-
You have 5+ years’ experience in the application of 3D creation technologies for apparel, soft and hardgoods
-
You are technically proficient with various technologies: CLO3D / Vstitcher, Substance Suite (Designer and Sampler), Modo, Blender and Adobe Creative Suite
-
You are familiar with the export of UV maps and interoperability of 3D file types across various DCCs
-
You are highly skilled in creating photo-realistic renders of 3D objects
-
You are able to translate complex technical language into demos and processes for successful onboarding of new users
-
You are familiar with basic coding language (IE: Python) and can create basic scripting
-
You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
-
You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity

You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration

$94,000 - $118,000 a year
The salary range for this role is CAD$94,000 – CAD$118,000.
