Hours of Work/Shifts: 8 Hour Shifts (Option To Work 12 Hour Shifts)

  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent
  • Personal Support Worker, Orthopaedic Certificate and/or appropriate other related Health Care Certificate/Program required
  • Current BCLS & First Aide Certificates essential
  • Recent Community College course on musculoskeletal assessment and/or any other health care related program (within 2 years)
  • Previous Hospital/Health Care experience
  • Previous Emergency Experience preferred Current basic computer skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills to work as part of a multidisciplinary team Must be a self-directed individual with well-developed organizational skills
  • Possess the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision Must have the physical requirements to complete the job duties
  • A positive attendance record is required

Position Summary:

  • Responsible and accountable for the provision of patient care to a specific group of patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with the standards set by the Hospital
  • Performs various patient care duties and related non-professional activities necessary in meeting patient’s personal needs and comfort
  • Assists in the maintenance of a safe, clean and comfortable environment Other duties as assigned and as per job description
