Are you passionate about helping students succeed while enjoying the flexibility to choose when and where you work? Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking compassionate, adaptable, and student-focused Casual Educational Assistants to join our team. Serving 16 schools across Sturgeon County, our casual EAs play an essential role in supporting students with diverse learning needs whenever regular Educational Assistants are unavailable. What You’ll Be Doing

Under the direction of the classroom teacher, you will

Provide classroom and individualized support for students across a variety of grade levels and learning environments Assist students with academic, social, emotional, and behavioural learning needs Encourage student independence while promoting positive relationships and inclusion Support the implementation of classroom strategies, accommodations, and individualized learning plans Foster safe, caring, and inclusive learning environments that support student success Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and support teams to provide consistent student support

Students feel safe, supported, and included throughout the school day

Classroom routines and teacher-directed learning plans are implemented consistently Positive relationships are established quickly with students and school staff Students receive appropriate academic, behavioural, and social support based on their individual needs Applies behaviour support and regulation strategies consistently and effectively to promote student success Adaptability and professionalism are demonstrated across a variety of schools, grade levels, and student needs Student dignity, confidentiality, and well-being are maintained at all times You contribute positively to each school's culture by providing reliable, compassionate, and responsive support

What You Bring

Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate

Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including autism and challenging behaviours Current CPR and First Aid certification Training in Positive Behaviour Supports, and TCIS is considered an asset Patience, empathy, adaptability, and a commitment to student success Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school teams Demonstrated proficiency in spoken and written English Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
