This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement will allow you to work some days at a TCHC work location and the rest of the time from home. The amount of time required to work at a TCHC work location is flexible, while considering operational and service delivery requirements.

Make a difference

Reporting to the Program Manager - Access and Control, the Access Control Administrator will assist/support various activities related to the new building security access program that is centralized under CSU.

The Access Control Administrator will be tasked with controlling access rights to buildings, issuing e-keys, running reports, analyzing data of access logs and designing and maintaining identity and access policies, standards, controls, roles and processes in keeping with TCHC policies and procedures to mitigate risk.

What you’ll do

  • Run usage reports and analyze the data within the access control database on confidential information such as user entry points, time of entry and duration. Information required at times for discipline process and system integrity.
  • Review, audit, liaise with designated authorities and make recommendations on access rights/privileges for all staff in relation to the building security access program, ensuring integrity and compliance.
  • Support Program Manager in building controls/policy associated with the issuance of access fobs/cards/keys that are provided to staff, tenants, vendors and ESS partners
  • Support Program Manager in coordinating various activities from the preparation phase to rollout.
  • Supports the Program Manager to ensure best practices are being followed as it relates to e-key processes, including but not limited to issuance/activation/return/lost/stolen/deactivation/access rights and identify instances of non-compliance.
  • System Administrator for activation/deactivation of key fobs and assignment of access levels related to onboarding, off boarding and inter-departmental transfers.
  • Facilitates the procurement and supply chain management of key fobs/physical keys. Conducts audits, analyze results and prepares reports on inconsistencies to Program Manager.
  • Prepares written incident reports.
  • Performs routine office support functions.
  • Support the Program Manager in reviewing and maintaining all IAM (identity and access management) policies and procedures, as well as security best practices are researched and kept current. This includes updating policies and procedures as well as creating new policies and procedures when required.
  • Responds to inquiries relating to IAM standards, conduct staff training and provide the tools to ensure appropriate use.
  • Provides input into requirements, analysis, design and solutions to maintain control effectiveness.
  • Participates in the development of communications materials, with Strategic Communications, and subject to approval by the Program Manager.
  • Supports the Program Manager – Building Security Access & Control Program in project work as assigned.
  • Serve as a point of contact with any our partners (especially TPS) on any issues as regards access control.

What you’ll need

  • Diploma in Business/Security Administration, technology or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Professional designation in the field of security such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) preferred.
  • 5+ years of previous work experience in corporate security, security systems or other relevant field.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a full security clearance (background required)
  • 5 or more years’ experience in Corporate Security Systems, Investigations or other relevant field.
  • Experience in modern building security, security systems and their functions.
  • Knowledge of security project management practices, governance, project methodologies, tools, templates and documentation for successful project deliverance. (an asset)
  • Knowledge of threat and risk assessment methods.
  • Knowledge of security building access and control practices (an asset).
  • Working knowledge of control and access systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent follow-through, persistent, highly collaborative, highly organized, a strategic thinker.
  • Experience in applying change management techniques
  • Good presentation, writing, and/or training skills
  • Diploma in Business/Security Administration, technology or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Intermediate level: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer-based business platforms Excellent interpersonal and oral / written communication skills and client relationship skills
  • Analytical ability with exceptional attention to detail in order to analyze data and trends.
  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
  • Prior experience working with Information Technology and Integration i.e. VSSR, Access Control or Security Plans is an asset.
