General Labourer - Crating/Packaging

About the role

The General Labour - Crating will be responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at our facility. The duties are primarily for building or otherwise assembling outgoing packaging of our industrial products. The requirements may vary by situation and assigned area.

This position is located in Scarborough, Ontario from 7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and weekend availability, as requested.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Able to perform repetitive lifting/bending/stretching/standing/walking

  • Cut, screw, nail, lip, or otherwise fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and equipment, as required.

  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety and housekeeping practices, and use of personal protective equipment.

  • Following all company policies as described in the employee handbook.

  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Knowledge of standard measuring equipment (tape measures etc.).

  • Use overhead and jib cranes as well as typical material handling equipment (e.g., pallet trucks).

  • All other duties as may be assigned.

Role Requirements:

  • 2-years’ experience in Warehousing or Manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency and working experience using a nail gun required
  • Knowledge and skill in reading specific work instructions for made-to-order product.
  • The ability to physically stand, bend, squat and lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Knowledge of typical measuring equipment (tape measures etc.)
