Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Head of Strategic Engagement Development, with a focus on NORAD Modernization. This high-level role will provide you with an opportunity to work closely with key stakeholders in the Canadian Armed Forces and Department of National Defence and industry partners, helping shape and influence strategic business growth within Canada and export markets, including NATO.
As part of our Global Business Development team, you will report to the Chief Executive and work alongside existing Business Development Business Areas, Government Affairs, and Industrial Development to build lasting relationships and collaborate to grow new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain appropriate access and influence across relevant Government Departments.
- Build and maintain enduring, inclusive relationships with key stakeholders, creating mutually beneficial partnerships; taking full advantage of internal and external synergies.
- Supporting high-level capture campaigns with a focus on key customer priorities and concerns.
- Establish strong networks and structures to enhance collaboration across Lockheed Martin’s Business Areas to maximize the ability to grow new and established business in Canada.
- Work closely with CAF and DND leaders to build lasting relationships and increase our Pwin.
- Be the strategic engagement focal point for LM Canada within Global Business Development in Canada.
- Other duties, as required.

What you bring to the role
- The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of defence procurement in Canada.
- Professional credibility and experience in working closely with CAF and DND.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the target market and customer base in which to achieve growth.
- Ability to rapidly assimilate in-depth understanding of Lockheed Martin Canada’s and wider Lockheed Martin capabilities, with particular emphasis on mapping these to the needs of the Canadian customer.
- Ability to demonstrate entrepreneurial innovation and adaptability, driving initiatives to enable successful business growth.
- Committed to personal excellence, ethical behaviour, and integrity.
- Thought leader and strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategy into clearly-articulated plans.
- Proven depth of experience in pursuing and delivering successful outcomes in a business or similar environment.
- Exceptional communicator with the ability to prepare, influence, and communicate clear messages that motivate and inspire action at all levels.
- Broad multi-disciplined experience, team player attitude, and an excellent understanding of Government and the supporting areas of Defence and Security.
- Ideally from an operational background with command or senior military leadership experience.
- Experience that encompasses a military and commercial environment with evidence of success in bringing large programs of relevance through a business development cycle.
All successful applicants will be required to have necessary residency requirements to achieve security clearance at the appropriate level for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
