Job Description & Requirements
Please note:
-The position will be 8-hours per day, 12-months per year. -Hours assigned to each position may vary day-to-day, based on the operational needs of the Division. -Start date will be subject to the successful completion of School Bus Driver requirements.
SCHOOL BUS DRIVER (ROUTE RED 10) - 4.00 HOURS

Purpose of Position
The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students from designated pick-up sites to BSD schools (and other division events/outings). Drivers may be assigned to city and/or country routes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Are established by the Supervisor of Transportation within the parameters of the job profile.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Class 2 Driver's License, or willingness to obtain.
- School Bus Operator's Certificate, with Defensive Driving training, or willingness to obtain.
- WHMIS training/certification.
- Demonstrated ability to follow standardized work methods and processes.
- Ability to interact with service dogs while transporting students, if required.
- Demonstrated time management and computer/word processing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
- Mechanical knowledge.
MAINTENANCE WORKER III - 4.00 HOURS
Purpose of Position
The Maintenance III position works with the Maintenance team and may be responsible for, but not limited to, activities in one or more of the following areas: carpentry (e.g., building cabinets and other projects), electrical (e.g., installation and maintenance of electrical components – heating, ventilation, air conditioning, fire alarm), utility (e.g., welding, repairs, maintenance), painting, and grounds (e.g. maintain and operate equipment, general repairs to BSD property and snow removal).
Duties and Responsibilities
Are established by the Supervisor of Facilities within the parameters of the job profile.
Required Qualifications
- Specific maintenance/technical knowledge, including the ability to assemble, repair, renovate, maintain, and install equipment and materials.
- Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Effective basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
- Effective moderate interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- WHMIS training/certification.
- Asbestos removal training/knowledge.
