Duties
The Compensation, Benefits, and HRIS Officer is responsible for supporting and managing the organization's compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive, equitable, and aligned with business objectives. This role also involves managing and analyzing data within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring the accuracy and integrity of employee records. The Officer will collaborate with HR leadership to develop compensation structures, benefits offerings, and HRIS reporting, while providing insights and recommendations to improve employee satisfaction, compliance, and overall organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, particularly in compensation, benefits administration and Human Resources Information Systems, specifically ADP (Workforce Now) or other qualifications as determined appropriate by the City.
- Strong knowledge of compensation strategies, benefits programs, and wellness initiatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience working in a unionized environment as well as public sector.
- Strong problem solving, analytical thinking and conflict resolution skills.
- Facilitation, training and curriculum/presentation development skills and experience.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail, flexibility, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Aptitude to use tact, diplomacy, discretion, and emotional intelligence to create dialogue and trust and the ability to maintain high confidentiality.
- Capable to apply sound judgement in balancing interests and resolving issues.
- Able to conduct research and to compile information effectively.
