Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

We’re seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist – Web Design & Development who’s excited to design, build, and optimize online experiences that inspire confidence in how people view their finances and their impact on the world. In this role, you’ll collaborate with writers, designers, marketers, and product experts to bring ideas to life through seamless digital experiences. From creating and iterating on web pages, components, and design libraries, to applying user research and analytics insights, you’ll have the chance to shape how our members connect with Vancity online. If you thrive on blending creativity with technical skills, championing user experience best practices, and launching polished online experiences that drive campaigns forward, this role is for you.

This is a Full-time, Permanent hybrid role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Manager, Digital Marketing. This hybrid role would require you to work in-office at least once a month.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Be responsible for creating, iterating and maintaining exceptional online experiences that motivate, teach and help people to look at their finances and impact on the world with confidence
  • Use your UX and web development skills to design, build and manage design libraries and components with support from your team; you’ll also design, author and implement web pages and other assets
  • Apply analytics, data insights, consumer behaviour insights and user research/testing in your work to regularly optimize existing experiences and inform the design of new ones
  • Work collaboratively with the rest of the web team, writers, creative team, campaign owners, vendors and experts from many areas such as research, product and compliance
  • Refine and strengthen Vancity’s identity together with the creative services team, brand team and the rest of the digital marketing team
  • Optimize internal processes in your areas of expertise to position the team for efficiency and growth
  • Be an advocate for user experience best practices and bring colleagues along in understanding what makes great design

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in marketing, UX, and/or web development
  • Proficiency in modern design, CMS and web tools (e.g., React JS, Tailwind, Sitecore, Figma, Photoshop, GTM, Webflow, etc)
  • Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design implementation
  • Experience with SEO, web accessibility, and web analytics (GTM, GA4, Looker Studio or similar)
  • Ability to conduct and translate user research, analytics, and consumer insights into effective and engaging web experiences
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, including marketing, content, product, and compliance stakeholders
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain design decisions and advocate for user experience best practices
  • Creative problem solver with attention to detail and a mindset for continuous improvement and process optimization

You’ll Thrive Here If You Are:

  • Creative – your “out-of-box-thinking” is second nature and has allowed you to innovate in your day to day.
  • Exceptionally Organized – you have meticulous attention to detail and skills to review information, detect anomalies, investigate and resolve discrepancies. Planning is second nature to you and you thrive in fast-paced environments where details are constantly changing.
  • A Natural Multitasker – you enjoy having high volumes of tasks and projects on your plate and still flourish through competing deadlines.
  • An Excellent Communicator – you use your interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate project deliverables, convey and address ideas, challenges, and opportunities across several functions, teams, and departments, internally and externally. You love to collaborate, consult and negotiate.

We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don't perfectly align with those listed.

What You’ll Earn:

This role offers a salary range of $56,500 to $84,700 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
