The Opportunity
We’re looking for a knowledgeable and adaptable Immigration Legal Counsel who is passionate about Canadian immigration law and excited to work in a tech-driven environment. You’ll play a critical role in delivering legal services through the BorderPass platform while contributing to its evolution. This is a unique opportunity to practice law in a scalable, impact-focused way — combining client advocacy with technology-driven innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of Canadian immigration matters through the BorderPass platform
- Oversee the preparation and submission of immigration applications
- Represent clients in hearings, including Federal Court matters where applicable
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to enhance the platform’s legal capabilities
- Identify client trends and proactively contribute to service improvements using platform data
- Support a high volume of clients through efficient, tech-enabled legal strategies
- Stay informed on immigration law and policy changes to ensure platform accuracy and legal compliance
Who You Are
- Licensed to practice law in Canada
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Canadian immigration law
- Strong experience preparing and filing a broad range of immigration applications
- Experience representing clients in hearings and/or Federal Court matters is an asset
- Comfortable using legal technology platforms and tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
- Passionate about redefining legal services through technology
