Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a strategic, collaborative and data-driven individual to join our team as a Surgical Access Registry Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare access and/or surgical program management, with strong skills in data analysis, quality improvement, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated leadership in patient flow, registry management and operational scheduling within a complex healthcare environment.

Who you are

You are an experienced healthcare professional who has worked in a healthcare, hospital, or clinical operations environment for a minimum of five years, with exposure to medical specialists, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams.

You have experience in surgical program operations, patient access coordination or related healthcare service delivery areas.

You possess knowledge of health information systems, data quality principles, medical terminology, and quality improvement methodologies. Proficiency in descriptive statistics, advanced computer applications, and health information technology is required.

  • Baccalaureate degree in a health-related field
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a healthcare environment with exposure to medical specialists and administrators.
  • Experience in the preoperative environment
  • Experience working with health information technology
  • Advanced computer proficiency
  • Knowledge of descriptive statistics
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
  • Knowledge of data quality principles
  • Knowledge of quality improvement principles and processes

Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.

What you will do

The Access Manager serves as a key operational and analytical resource within the Surgery Program by translating registry data into meaningful information that supports patient access planning, program performance monitoring, and clinical leadership decision-making.

Reporting to program leadership within Horizon Health Network, the Access Manager will play a key role in surgical access registry reporting and performance monitoring for the Surgery Program.

You will analyze and communicate surgical access registry information to clinical and administrative leadership, supporting evidence-informed decision-making and supporting surgical system performance.

Key responsibilities include:

Communication and Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, clinical teams, program leadership, and regional partners to support accurate and timely information sharing.
  • Promote transparency and understanding of access management data across stakeholders.
  • work collaboratively with the provincial access managers to ensure that a provincial approach is used to manage patient concerns related to surgery through working with the access manager in each RHA
  • Interface with surgical patients, and/or their families, who are inquiring regarding their surgical wait, and respond to concerns about placement on the wait list
  • facilitate understanding of the information on the New Brunswick Surgical Care Network Public Website

Registry and Data Management

  • Oversee surgical access registry processes to ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Generate and review surgical access reports related to wait times, performance indicators, and system trends.
  • Apply knowledge of healthcare data systems, descriptive statistics, and health information technology.

Operational Support

  • Support surgical scheduling and access coordination within the Surgery and Anesthesia Program.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, patient access, and service delivery processes.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and best practices related to access management.

Quality and Performance Improvement

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient experience and surgical system performance.

Professional Practice

  • Ensure compliance with privacy standards and health information governance requirements.
  • Demonstrate collaborative leadership while managing complex operational and access-related issues.
