What is your opportunity?
You will be the technical leader of the Enterprise Data Management Platform to drive the development of enterprise data management automations and solutions that empower the data-driven regulatory and innovation ambitions of the organization.
You will be responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of these solutions and will lead and mentor a team of developers. This role requires a strong background in data engineering, and automation leadership, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a strong ability to translate goals into actionable plans for the teams. Ideally, you will have a background in information management technologies, such as enterprise data catalogs, data quality and classification tools and automation technologies.
What will you do?
- Work with product management and business SMEs to translate data management initiatives into actionable technical delivery plans ensuring measurable outcomes
- Work with product management and services teams to ensure effective technical change management release over release.
- Support the development team to scale, monitor and operate the enterprise data management capabilities for high availability and performance
- Oversee the development and maintenance of technical documentation and knowledge bases, leading through hands-on contribution.
- Manage and mentor the platform product development and support teams, providing leadership and direction.
- Ensure any risk/IT findings related to the program are managed to timely closure.
- Work with vendors on technical feature requests and drive resolution of technical issues with vendors or technical partners.
What do you need to succeed?
- A post-secondary degree in computer science or related technical field involving coding and/or equivalent professional experience
- 15+ years hands-on experience in data engineering and related technologies
- 5+ years of experience working in technology design within a financial institution
- Strong experience with Java, Python, Apache Groovy, Apache Airflow, Apache Kafka, RDBMS and data warehouse data storage systems both on-premises as well as cloud-based (e.g., Snowflake AWS, Azure)
- Strong working knowledge of data management and data protection-related enterprise data management technologies including data catalogs, data lineage, data quality management, and data discovery and classification tools
- Expertise with Disciplined Agile Development and proficiency with JIRA, GitHub, and Confluence.
- Exceptional leadership, written and verbal communication that consider both a mixed technical and business stakeholder audience.
Nice to have:
- Proficiency with data modeling and supporting BI tools
- Expertise with automating quality assurance frameworks
- A solid understanding of data management and/or data security related regulatory requirements in banking
