Your work will involve designing and optimising algorithms, models, and systems to enable intelligent decision-making and automation. At PwC, our Cloud, Data & AI Business Unit empowers clients to unlock value from their data by designing and implementing modern, scalable solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). We deliver advanced analytics, data engineering, and AI-driven insights to help organisations transform and innovate.

Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a Data Engineering Associate, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build and optimise data pipelines, enable analytics and AI/ML workloads, and deliver impactful solutions for clients across industries. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage).
  • Build and manage cloud-native data platforms, data lakes, and data warehouses to support analytics and AI initiatives.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions that enable machine learning and advanced analytics.
  • Implement DevOps and DataOps practices, including CI/CD, version control, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager).
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data workflows for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Document technical solutions and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP data services: BigQuery, Dataflow/Beam, Dataproc/Spark, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer/Airflow.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Understanding of data warehousing, data modelling, and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Familiarity with DevOps/DataOps tools and practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, and compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective communicator.
  • Preferred certifications: GCP Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Data Engineer.
  • This role does not require professional engineering licensure and is not classified as a formal engineering position under provincial regulatory definitions. While individuals with a P.Eng designation are welcome to apply, the responsibilities of this role do not involve the practice of professional engineering as defined by applicable legislation.
