About the role

Job Description: Junior/Senior Researcher

The Researcher will support the research activities in consultation with Senior Research Specialists and the Project Manager. The candidate will ensure consistency in production and adherence to deadlines. Key responsibilities include gathering and inputting information, performing data analysis, and creating reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive research on assigned topics using credible sources, databases, and other academic or professional resources.

  • Develop and implement data collection instruments (e.g., surveys, interviews, focus groups) and present findings in present findings in a clear, organized, and compelling format.

  • Analyze census and survey data using statistical and thematic techniques to identify trends and insights that support project objectives.

  • Produce comprehensive research reports, executive summaries, and presentations that meet academic or professional standards, incorporating feedback from stakeholders.

  • Analyze and interpret data to present findings in a clear, organized, and compelling format.

  • Collaborate with project teams and attend on-site meetings and research activities as needed.

  • Draft, edit, and proofread various types of content, including research reports, articles, white papers, and summaries.

  • Assist in organizing, maintaining, and updating research databases and citations.

  • Work effectively within deadlines, managing multiple projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ensure adherence to deadlines and quality standards in all deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or Master’s degree (preferred) in Social Sciences (e.g., Social Sciences, Policy, Journalism, Political Science, Statistics, or related fields or relevant experience.
  • Proven experience conducting both quantitative and qualitative research, including survey design, administration, and census data extraction (mandatory).
  • Exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into concise, accessible insights.
  • Strong skills in data analysis using statistical and qualitative software such as Excel, R, or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, well-organized research reports, summaries, and presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple research projects independently while meeting deadlines.
  • Commitment to in-person work at the Mississauga location.
  • Sound knowledge of Islamic faith and practice.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint) and Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides, Sites).
  • Fluency in English (mandatory) and French (optional).

Compensation:
Starting salary depends on education and experience.

Immediately.
