Parts Inventory Analyst - 18 Month Maternity Leave

As a Parts Inventory Analyst at SMS Equipment, you’ll turn data into action—optimizing parts availability**, streamlining** processes, and ensuring our teams have what they need to keep heavy equipment moving. This role blends analytical problem-solving with hands-on industry knowledge, all within a supportive, safety-first environment.
Location: Acheson, AB
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Salary: $70,000–$82,000 annually
Note: This is a maternity leave coverage for 18 months with the possibility of extension.
What You’ll Do
- Set and track annual efficiency goals with management for the parts department.
- Analyze and optimize parts inventory, including KPI monitoring and investment planning.
- Maintain accurate spare parts lists and master file data for multiple equipment types.
- Standardize warehouse and parts procedures across all branches.
- Manage surplus, excess, and consignment inventory to reduce waste and improve utilization.
- Provide reporting, training, and general parts support to internal teams.
What You Bring
- 3+ years’ parts counter experience in construction and/or mining.
- 2+ years’ data analysis experience.
- Knowledge of mining/construction equipment systems and parts processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Suite skills; Power BI experience an asset.
- Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Red Seal Parts Technician certification an asset.
