About the role

This i sa Vancouver-based position that required 3 days a week onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). It is a 18 month position. Are you passionate about building confidence in technology through scalable automation and smart testing strategies? Our Games Technology Group empowers multiple creative disciplines through tools and workflows—and we need a Lead Quality Engineer to ensure these solutions remain reliable, efficient, and bug-free. You’ll lead the charge in designing robust test frameworks, continuous integration flows, and quality pipelines that validate everything from Unreal Engine integrations to custom scripting tools. Your work will play a key role in enabling fast, safe releases to internal and external customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect and implement automated test systems for tools, plug-ins, and workflows.
  • Define and enforce quality standards for shared technology before release.
  • Collaborate with engineering and pipeline teams to integrate testing into development processes.
  • Lead efforts in test coverage analysis, performance benchmarking, and regression detection.
  • Maintain and evolve CI environments for scalable and efficient test execution.
  • Champion integration testing and stability verification for cross-team workflows.
  • Document quality engineering processes and mentor on automation best practices.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of experience as a quality engineer, writing and managing tests for games or equivalent software OR equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience designing and maintaining automated test frameworks.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CI tools

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Highly proficient in C++, C# and object-oriented design programming.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers and artists.
  • Experience working with diverse disciplines within a game studio environment.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $43 to $48 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
