Overview: The Clinical Supervisor, Prevention Services is responsible for overseeing the delivery of prevention services, including the Youth Reconnect and Family and Natural Supports programs, as well as any other projects that may be added.
Responsible for performance management, appraisals, and regular administrative supervision, the supervisor additionally provides Clinical Supervision for staff that perform the Controlled Act of Psychotherapy. This position must ensure that services delivered are clinically sound, responsive to youth and families’ needs and in compliance with agency policies and procedures, relevant legislation, and professional standards.
We are currently recruiting for 1 Full-time, Permanent Clinical Supervisor, Prevention Initiatives. This is a new position within the organization. Responsibilities: Program Coordination, Development and Supervision
- Responsible for ensuring that services delivered are clinically sound, responsive to youth needs and in compliance with agency policies and procedures, relevant legislation and professional standards.
- Provide regular administrative supervision to direct reports, supporting staff development and addressing performance management issues
- Provide regular Clinical Supervision for staff who are Regulated Health Professionals performing the Controlled Act of Psychotherapy, including assessment, intervention and evaluation of client interventions as well as supporting staff engage in critical self-reflection
- Ensures staff maintain documentation in alignment with agency policies, professional standards and relevant legislation
- Provide as-needed support to staff in decision making, problem solving, and crisis navigation ensuring good clinical judgement that meets the needs of youth
- Responsible for managing the flow of referrals into programs, including receiving referrals and assigning to staff
- Responsible for playing a key role in monitoring and addressing quality assurance issues related to Prevention Services programs
- Plays a collaborative and active role in the development of new and existing services in response to identified needs and trends
- Responsible for maintaining and developing partnerships with the education sector, and other areas as needed
- Coordinate team meetings and meetings with community partners
Human Resource Management
- Responsible for ensuring that human resource practices are consistent with agency policies and compliant with relevant legislation.
- Provides leadership, sets expectations, promotes effective working relationships across CHT programs and the sector
- Directly supervises, appraises and evaluates staff in Clinical Services programs
- Supports Manager, Clinical and Prevention Services with participation and recommendations in hiring, appraising and terminating of direct report staff
- Provide leadership around team development
- Demonstrate awareness of, and ensures staff work in accordance with organization health and safety policies and procedures
Administration
- Reviews and ensures staff documentation is completed in a timely manner and meets organizational and professional standards
- Completes reports for both internal and external stakeholders
- Completes financial and administrative reconciliations and reports
- Monitors and approves staffs timecards, including approving requests for time off
- Responsible for ensuring data integrity, collection, and analysis of relevant statistical information
- Contributes towards an evidence based, Quality Improvement model of practice
- Other additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Registered Social Worker in good standing with OCSWSSW, or Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with CRPO. Required
- MSW, or post graduate degree in a counseling related field, or equivalent in education and experience
- 5 years’ experience working with, and providing therapeutic, clinically informed services to, youth at-risk of, or experiencing, homelessness, and their families, supporting an excellent understanding of issues related to youth homelessness, 2SLGBTQ identities, trauma, mental health and substance use problems and disorders, and developmental and learning disabilities
- Must meet CRPO’s “independent practice” requirement (completion of 1000 direct client contact hours and 150 hours of clinical supervision), and completion of 30 hours directed learning in providing clinical supervision
- Sound understanding of family systems theory, family dynamics, adolescent development and attachment theories and an ability to support staff apply them
- Ability to support staff with an integrated model of practice (e.g client-centered, trauma informed, harm reduction, Anti-Black racism, anti-oppression, Housing First for Youth, strengths/resiliency based) and from a culturally safe perspective/framework is essential
- Experience maintaining and developing sector and community partnerships
- Demonstrated collaborative leadership skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience implementing and developing new projects and services
- Experience implementing quality improvement approaches
