About the role
A unique opportunity is available for a talented cinematographer to collaborate on a demo film project in Montreal. This role is ideal for someone passionate about visual storytelling and experienced in capturing compelling footage that enhances narrative. The project will take place over a weekend, requiring on-site presence in Montreal. The ideal candidate will bring creative vision, technical expertise, and a collaborative spirit to help bring the director’s vision to life.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the director to interpret the script and develop the visual style of the film
- Plan and execute all aspects of cinematography, including camera operation, shot composition, and movement
- Design and implement lighting setups to achieve the desired mood and atmosphere
- Oversee camera and lighting equipment setup, ensuring all technical requirements are met
- Work efficiently within a tight weekend schedule to capture all necessary footage
- Troubleshoot on-set challenges and adapt to changing conditions as needed
- Ensure all footage is captured at the highest possible quality for post-production
Skills And Requirements
- Proven experience as a cinematographer or director of photography on narrative or demo film projects
- Strong understanding of camera systems, lenses, and lighting techniques
- Demonstrated ability to translate storyboards and scripts into compelling visual sequences
- Proficiency with industry-standard camera and lighting equipment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with directors and crew
- Creative problem-solving abilities and adaptability in fast-paced environments
- Availability to be on site in Montreal for the duration of the shoot (willingness to travel if not local)
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines
