Operations Ansible/Automation Developer: On behalf of our IT Services client, Procom is searching for an Operations Ansible/Automation Developer for a 1-year contract role. Candidate can work remotely form anywhere in Canada but must be available to work 8-4
Mountain Time work hours. It is a bonus if the individual is available in the Edmonton area.
Operations Ansible/Automation Developer - Job Description: This role involves working with the ATCO Ansible Team on the deployment and management of Ansible Configuration Management solutions. The project focuses on advancing ATCO’s automation strategy and integrating Ansible into existing IT operations to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Operations Ansible/Automation Developer - Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for automation tasks.
- Design, implement, and manage automation workflows to streamline IT operations.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, efficient, and resilient.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities.
- Integrate Ansible with other platforms and DevOps tools.
- Build automated monitoring solutions to track system performance and health.
- Analyze system metrics/logs to detect and resolve issues proactively.
- Work with the AIOps team to enhance predictive analytics and anomaly detection.
- Partner with AIOps teams for smooth integration of automation solutions.
- Provide technical support and mentorship on Ansible-related tasks.
- Conduct training sessions and documentation to promote automation best practices.
- Evaluate and adopt new tools/technologies to expand automation capabilities.
- Stay updated with Ansible and AIOps industry trends.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to peers.
Operations Ansible/Automation Developer - Mandatory Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure Automation with a strong focus on Ansible.
- Proven expertise with Ansible automation across hybrid environments.
- Strong experience integrating Ansible into DevOps toolchains within a GitOps workflow.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible Tower or Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows (WinRM, PowerShell).
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Operations Ansible/Automation Developer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Managing Automation with Ansible Automation Platform (EX294).
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Developing Automation with Ansible Automation Platform (EX374).
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
- Additional certifications in Public Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) or configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform).
- High emotional intelligence.
Operations Ansible/Automation Developer – Assignment Length: This is a 1-year contract position with the possibility of a 6-month extension based on performance.
Operations Ansible/Automation Developer - Start Date: ASAP.
