Summary of Position
Abalone Construction is a privately owned company with over 40 years specializing in Industrial and Commercial civil construction. We offer construction services in a variety of markets including Infrastructure, Roadbuilding, and Land Development.
The rock / haul truck operator will be responsible for supporting multiple project sites by hauling aggregate and other materials as required
Role and Responsibilities
Operate and maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner by following Abalone policies and procedures;
Have a clear understanding of the load and work limits of the equipment model being operated;
Haul and transport materials within site limits, from cut to intended placement location.
Communicating with loading excavator and dozer operators to ensure material is being placed in a safe manor in the intended location.
Complete daily maintenance (minor) ensuring the necessary components are greased, windows and mirrors are cleaned;
Complete daily inspections of items such as tires, fluids, lights, brakes & hydraulic lines to ensure equipment is fully functional and safe for operating;
Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications, Training and Education
Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience operating rock truck
Gradesman experience is considered an asset
Must have valid CSTS-2020, WHMIS 2015 and Ground Disturbance
Personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required
Working Conditions
Operators will be working outside in all weather conditions. They must be able to spend long periods of time sitting in their vehicle, or walking/standing on the job site. They must be willing to commit to 50 + hours per week at various project locations.
