About the role
Position Summary
Northern Health is looking for a knowledgeable and collaborative professional to join our team as an Architect, Data Analytics, supporting the development and management of data solutions that drive informed decision-making across the organization.
In accordance with the Vision, Mission, Values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, the Architect, Data Analytics (the Architect) designs, creates, and manages analytics data architecture solutions and products in a hybrid on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring that data is organized, accessible, secure, and aligned with business objectives. The Architect works in conjunction with managers and leads from Digital Health, business areas, project management and vendor partners to ensure design, changes and support of data projects align with Northern Health systems, data, analytics and information governance strategy, at times being exclusively allocated to specific projects such as the Northern Health Enterprise Transformation (NExT).
The Architect participates in the implementation of and support for data and software lifecycle management, commercial off the shelf and custom analytics data applications, and other software; leads project team staff where delegated; provides leadership on behalf of Digital Health with the integration and implementation of analytics solutions for existing and new software, using a variety of project management tools, applications, and processes.
Starting salary will be approximately from $88,990 to $111,237 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline plus five (5) years of experience in design and implementation of data models for enterprise data warehouse initiatives.

Experience leading projects involving data warehousing, data modeling, and data analysis.
-
Experience and certifications with SQL, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platforms highly desired.
-
Experience with healthcare analytics is an asset.
Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to produce detailed data models, diagrams and business communications tools.

Demonstrated proficiency in the design and implementation of modern data architectures and concepts such as cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), real-time data distribution (Kafka, Dataflow), and modern data warehouse tools (Snowflake, Databricks).

Demonstrated proficiency in integration, modelling, and orchestration of complex data; optimization and automation skills.

Knowledge of virtual server operating systems, networks, active directory, command line, and automation.

Demonstrated coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, C#,

Demonstrated understanding of entity-relationship modeling, metadata systems, and data quality tools and techniques.

Ability to think strategically and relate architectural decisions and recommendations to business needs.

Knowledge of IT compliance and risk management processes such as GDPR, ISO.

Knowledge and understanding of networking, web services, and cloud security

Ability to problem-solve with an overall organizational perspective in alignment with key strategic priorities.

Ability to establish and manage relationships with internal and external strategic partners and solution providers.

Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate large volumes of complex information to senior management of various technical understanding.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to clearly and fluently translate technical findings to non-technical partners and to communicate to multiple audiences using data storytelling and through graphics.
