About the role

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Product Data Steward on a permanent basis on our Home and Building Solutions (HABS) team.

This position is a remote opportunity and can be based out of any of our region offices in Western Canada.

Join our team as a Product Data Steward, where you'll lead the charge in ensuring accurate, consistent, and high-quality product data across Local Co-ops. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Continuous Improvement, you'll centralize data governance, resolve data issues in systems like mainframe and Mi9 POS, and guide Co-ops in best practices for item submissions. Your expertise will drive operational alignment, enhance reporting accuracy, and support smarter business decisions across HABS.

What you’ll do:

  • Validate incoming product data daily, resolve operational issues, and maintain product data tables to meet quality standards and SLAs.
  • Track data quality metrics, identify recurring issues, and support process improvements to enhance data reliability.
  • Act as a key contact for Local Co-ops, providing guidance, training, and support on product data standards and system processes.
  • Apply and maintain governance frameworks, document business rules, and contribute to audits and compliance efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline data processes, support system enhancements, and promote data ownership across teams.

Who you’ll work with:

The Team: You will work closely with Technical Specialists, Analysts, and Administrators and report into the Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement. This team strives to cultivate a culture of accuracy, collaboration, transparency, and empowerment.

The Collaborators: You will work closely with Local Coop employees, Item management teams, Data entry teams, Business Subject Matter Experts, and Business Unit teams.

Why it matters:

Our team helps to build Western Canadian communities by providing leadership to Co-op Home Centres that benefits local consumers and contractors.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Data Analytics & Insights and:

  • Have 3-6 years of experience in data governance, product data management, product information management, and/or data stewardship activities. Experience with business glossaries, data definitions, and/or data catalogs is an asset. Experience working with POS, PIM, or MDM systems is an asset. Prior experience working with data standards, governance principles, or cataloging tools is beneficial.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Information Management, Business, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).

What we offer:

  • Competitive salaries, short-term incentives, a comprehensive benefits package, and an employer-contributed pension plan.
  • Encouragement to take advantage of learning opportunities to grow and develop as a Team Member.
  • As a co-operative, we do business differently. We believe in working together to serve Western Canadians, delivering profits back to our communities and investing in sustainable growth. To learn more about who we are and what we offer, visit www.fcl.crs.

We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations throughout the recruitment process to ensure an enjoyable candidate experience. If you require an accommodation during the recruitment process, we invite you to submit your requests to us via fclhr@fcl.crs. All information received will be kept confidential.

If this opportunity speaks to you, we invite you to apply by September 18, 2025.

We thank all candidates for their interest, however only those selected to continue in the recruitment process will be contacted.

As this position is considered a position of trust, you may be required to complete a criminal record check in accordance with FCL policies.

FCL embraces diversity and inclusion. We’re working to create a workforce that is as diverse as the communities we serve and an environment where every team member brings their whole self to work. We believe all candidates should feel at home with us and be given the opportunity to fully participate during the recruitment process.
