CAD Technician (Rail Infrastructure Project)
Description Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services. We are currently seeking a CAD Technician to join our team for a major Rail Infrastructure Project in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Position Details
- Position: CAD Technician
- Project Type: Rail infrastructure project
- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
- Project Description: A large-scale transit infrastructure project involving the construction of a new rail line, including underground sections, multiple stations, and stops, designed to enhance urban mobility and public transportation efficiency.
- Estimated Duration: 24 months (Upon completion, Protecnium strives to provide continued project opportunities to ensure employment continuity.)
Position Overview The CAD Technician will support engineering and construction teams by developing and maintaining detailed technical drawings, 2D and 3D models, and design layouts for civil, structural, and tunnel works. The successful candidate will ensure that all deliverables comply with project standards, technical specifications, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise CAD drawings and layouts for civil and structural works (tunnels, stations, track alignment, utilities, etc.).
- Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and designers to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Maintain drawing registers and ensure adherence to document control procedures.
- Update design drawings and produce as-built documentation during construction.
- Support clash detection and design integration using CAD and BIM platforms.
Requirements
- Education: Degree or diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of professional experience, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or transit projects.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related design software. Experience with Canadian design standards and construction practices is an asset.
- Language: English (minimum level B2–C1).
Working Conditions & Benefits
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday (9 hours per day, including 1-hour lunch break).
- Vacation: 22 paid days per year.
- Travel: Covered at the beginning and end of the project.
- Accommodation: Two weeks of hotel accommodation provided at the project start.
- Transportation: Monthly public transit allowance.
- Work Tools: Computer and mobile phone provided .
- Health Insurance: 100% coverage for the employee.
