ABOUT YOU
Reporting to the Financial Services Officer, and working closely with the Manager, Finance, you are a team player who is reliable, responsive to customer needs and excellent at building relationships. You are courteous, effective in dealing with external organizations, enjoy working with a diverse group of people, and embrace change and challenges.
You will be responsible for administrating the preparation and processing of tenders, requests for quotation and proposals, and contracts; making recommendations regarding bid selection; monitoring annual service and supply contracts; ensuring adherence to contract provisions; administering and maintaining the purchasing card program; processing requisitions and creating purchase orders; liaising with user departments on the development of specifications and evaluation criteria; assisting with the annual property insurance renewal, the year-end audit and the disposition of assets; managing the custodianship of petty cash.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by courses in purchasing, preferably at least Year 1 of the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Program, plus sound related experience in purchasing, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You have strong experience working with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, and ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards), have strong communication skills and have effective time management and organizational skills.
All employees will be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position prior to any appointment.
HOURS: This is a temporary full-time position which involves workdays from Monday to Friday, based on a 35-hour work week for a term of approximately 1 year.
RATE OF PAY: The pay for this unionized temporary full-time position starts at step 1, $36.08 and ranges up to $42.45 per hour (2024 rates).
