Job Description:

Department Overview

The Financial Planning Strategy and Solutions team is responsible for defining and executing against the 5-year strategy and growth aspirations of the TD Wealth Financial Planning business. The team provides central strategy & support for over 1,000 Financial Planners located both in TD's branches and over the phone, delivering:

  • 5-year vision and leadership of key strategic initiatives for TD Wealth Financial Planning
  • Programs and initiatives to drive acquisition, client retention, sales effectiveness and legendary client experiences
  • Best-in-class centralized sales support for Financial Planners through a team of ~200 licensed Financial Planning Associates
  • Thought leadership and continuous delivery of improved end-to-end experiences for both Financial Planners and clients
  • Rapid growth of TD's emerging phone based Financial Planning offering

Job Description

The Senior Business Analyst is accountable for the day-to-day support of key business reporting in the Financial Planning Business Insights and Reporting team and will drive operational efficiencies for the business. This is a key role within the FP Strategy and Solutions team.

Working collaboratively with the FP leadership team, Wealth Shared Services, Wealth Segment Strategy and TD enterprise partners, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ownership of monthly Net Asset Growth (NAG) Goaling process and assisting with the annual target setting for NAG Goals and Retail Volume.
  • Act as point of contact for NAG Goal inquiries from regional sales leaders.
  • Assist in the delivery and update of monthly reports for business leader consumption.
  • Develop and deliver ad-hoc analysis to support emerging business strategies and initiatives.
  • Generate insights and identify opportunities to help drive business growth or address business/enterprise needs.
  • Build and manage relationships with partners and stakeholders to develop, prioritize, and champion FP Reporting and Insights team reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with business partners to gain deep understanding of the business and relevant objectives to contribute to the strategic direction of the business.
  • Interpret and present data using visualization to illustrate business insights.
  • Develop substantial and insightful commentary/insights on new and existing reporting packages.
  • Educate, train and build awareness with business partners on how to interpret data and analytics to drive decision making that will move the business forward.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; Alteryx experience is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to synthesize complex analysis, findings and recommendations and package key messages for senior executives.
  • Strong relationship builder with a proven ability to partner, build confidence and influence multiple stakeholders at all levels across the organization.
  • High attention to detail and comfortable working with large data sets.
  • Customer focused, with a strong understanding of customer needs and experiences across all channels.
