About the role
The Investment Product Analyst supports Vanguard’s multi-asset products and model portfolios through reporting, research, and analysis. This role ensures product health, empowers distribution teams, and contributes to strategic positioning and education efforts. The analyst collaborates with investment teams, sales, marketing, and legal to deliver insights and maintain competitive positioning.
Core Responsibilities
- Builds and produces key reports on a regular basis on Vanguard multi-asset offering, industry trends and the Canadian economy.
- Supports the creation of dynamic content used to position Vanguard's products and models. Develops and maintains broad knowledge and awareness of the investment industry, competition, and Vanguard's fund line-up. Assists with the creation of thought leadership commentary.
- Supports Vanguard’s Investment Strategy Group by providing economic research including Canadian economic indicators and statistics. Generates appropriate charts, tables on the Canadian economy, obtains and organizes readily available data.
- Detail orientated and able to conduct attribution analysis on portfolios providing both quantitative and qualitative insights.
- Develops and maintains competitor research, analysis, and monitoring that supports better business understanding of competitors' offerings, drives positioning of Vanguard's offer, and supports distribution.
- Utilizes department resources to respond to queries. Manages the support process, recommending process guidelines to management and the business.
- Develops and maintains relationships across the organization including the investment teams, sales, marketing, and legal.
- Maintains a client-focused, team-oriented, and data-driven mindset building investment expertise in areas such as asset allocation, portfolio construction and product design features.
- Continues personal development of analytical and presentation skills.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Three years related work experience, including one year experience in the investment industry.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Undergraduate degree with demonstrated success in academics.
- CFA enrollment preferred
- Familiarity with tools like Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, FactSet, MatLab an asset
- Proven history of motivation and initiative
