**General Description:**The Accounts Payable Clerk performs duties including but not limited to, processing payments, verify invoices, reconcile and recording expenses, as well as, providing financial accounting support to the Controller (and other colleagues to a lesser degree) within the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required, an associate degree in accounting or finance
• At least 2-3 years experience
• Multi-tasker
• Detail oriented and organized

• Enthusiastic and energetic

Responsibilities

• Receive & enter invoices into accounting system
• Reconcile AP clearing accounts for Visa, NS Power, Irving, Amex, Bell and Shaw
• Photocopy all capital and inventory invoices and file for retention
• Respond to vendor queries in a timely manner
• Check each statement to ensure there are no outstanding invoices and follow up where necessary
• Execute a cheque runs (every Wednesday) creating a payment batch using the criteria needed
• Enter online bill payments, create wire transfers and EFTs
• Reconcile Amex and Visa statements
• AP Ledger Reconciliation (month end)
• Help with annual audit backup discovery. Find, scan, save the audit requests.
