POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Human Resources Intern for the summer term to primarily support recruitment and seasonal hiring initiatives. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Intern will assist with full-cycle recruitment activities and provide administrative HR support to ensure a smooth and positive candidate and employee experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for a post-secondary student pursuing Human Resources, Business, or a related field to gain hands-on experience in talent acquisition within a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Work closely with business leaders to understand business objectives and provide HR solutions to drive performance, productivity, and engagement
-
Coordinate and execute recruitment activities for field and office roles, including posting job ads, screening resumes, conducting initial phone screens, scheduling interviews, and preparing offer documentation.

Support high-volume and seasonal hiring needs by assisting with candidate sourcing through job boards, social media, trade schools, community partners, and industry events.

Coordinate reference checks, background checks, and verification of certifications, tickets, and safety training to ensure compliance with company and site requirements.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records, recruitment trackers, and employee files within the HRIS or applicant tracking system.

Prepare new hire documentation and coordinate onboarding sessions, orientations, and site mobilization activities in collaboration with payroll and site leadership.

Assist with employee engagement initiatives, including safety recognition programs, milestone celebrations, employee appreciation events, and internal communications.

Support the administration of employee surveys and engagement activities, compiling data and assisting with follow-up actions.

Generate basic recruitment activity reports and provide general administrative support to the HR team as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Foundational knowledge of HR principles and employment standards legislation.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with candidates and employees.

Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) or equivalent tools; experience with HRIS or applicant tracking systems is an asset.

Demonstrates professionalism and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Eager to learn, adaptable, and able to take direction while working both independently and as part of a team.
HOURS OF WORK
- The typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm.
