Key Responsibilities
- Prepare animal rooms, supplies, and equipment for studies.
- Perform general animal husbandry, handling, room maintenance, dosing, and related procedures.
- Collect data for Toxicology and Safety Pharmacology studies (cardiovascular, respiratory, and nervous systems).
- Conduct inhalation study activities, including aerosol generation, sampling, and environmental monitoring (temperature, humidity, oxygen).
- Perform technical procedures such as ECGs, blood pressure measurements, sample collection, and surgeries.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate study equipment.
- Accurately document and verify study data in compliance with SOPs and GLP standards.
- Assist with data review, quality control, and audit responses as needed.
- Perform animal identification and randomization.
- Report deviations or issues promptly and follow health and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- DEC in Animal Health Technology or relevant experience.
- Attention to detail, good multi-tasking abilities and able to work in a dynamic environment.
- Must be available to work weekends and/or shifts.
- Must a able to lift between 20 and 40 pounds.
- English is necessary for operational purposes
Assets:
Experience in handling animals is a definite asset.
Experience in a laboratory or other scientific environment is a plus.
Knowing French is an asset.
