Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist (Workshop Facilitator) – Calgary (Hybrid) This is a hybrid role and requires you to be in the office 2x a week to meet with clients If you’re an energetic, enthusiastic Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist (Workshop Facilitator) seeking personal and professional growth, CBI Health Group has an excellent opening that will enable you to meet your career goals while enjoying the support of one of the largest healthcare networks in Canada.
Working within an interdisciplinary team, you will provide employment services to individuals with specialized vocational needs to ensure a sustainable transition back to work. Your clients will receive the support they need to effectively organize and prepare for a job search, access the hidden job market, and compile a resume as part of their return to work planning. The employment specialist also identifies challenges and works with the team to develop how to overcome obstacles towards a clients' progress towards employment/re-employment goals.

Responsibilities Will Include
- Facilitation of group workshops on various employment topics including resume writing, job research, interviewing, networking etc.
- Effectively manage a classroom of diverse students and encourage appropriate group participation and discussion
- Complete one on one interviews with clients to determine the client’s work history, education, computer skills and transferrable skills
- Utilize motivational interviewing skills to engage clients
- Maintain current knowledge in methodologies and policies regarding re-employment services and job search resources as well as an up to date understanding of current Alberta economy and labour market trends
- Write reports ( assessment, follow up, progress )
- Provide 1 on 1 or individualized support to clients who require accommodations
- Make appropriate recommendations/referrals for clients
- Utilize technology to provide remote services to rural clients as required and maintain an up to date knowledge of teleconferencing systems (go-to-meeting)
Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Technical training, in a technology-related field would be an asset
- Experience with facilitating or instructing a group, in a computer lab environment preferred
- Education and/or experience in Social Services would be an asset
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office and social media uses for job applications
- Ability to lesson plan for multiple levels and work with adult learners from varied backgrounds and cultures
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, teamwork skills
- Certification as a Microsoft Office Specialist would be an asset
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training or equivalent would be an asset
