Purpose of your Position - Non Union
Classification Summary - Union
An Equipment Operator III operates and maintains heavy mobile equipment according
to proper competency standards, safety practices and regulations. Performs manual
work.
Duties - Union
-
Operates heavy equipment and trucks with various attachments (e.g. tandem axle dump trucks, crane trucks with rigging, roadside mowers, truck -mounted plows (snow & ice control), street sweeper, asphalt and oil distributor trucks, and other construction /maintenance equipment).

May supervise and provide “crew -leader” direction to co-workers and contractors on specific job requirements, on a project basis.

Performs routine inspection, maintenance, lubrication and fueling of equipment.

Uses hand tools for routine maintenance and changing of attachments.

Refers equipment for mechanical repair and services as required.

Responds to routine public enquiries; maintains written records of work performed.
