CHIEF STEWARD
Luxury Resort - Jasper, Alberta - CAD $70,000 per year
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Chief Steward for a luxury resort in Jasper, Alberta. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, this is a hands-on management role responsible for leading the stewarding team and overseeing all back-of-house kitchen operations to support the culinary team in delivering exceptional service. Proven management experience is required for this role.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Directly supervise all stewarding employees and supervisors, including training, performance management, scheduling, and task delegation Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation across all kitchen and back-of house areas Work closely with outlet leaders to ensure adequate par levels of china, silverware, and glassware are maintained Conduct periodic inventory counts and identify purchase or equipment requirements Oversee correct usage and safe handling of all chemicals in line with WHMIS and health and safety standards Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment and follow up on repairs Play an active role in recruiting, orienting, and onboarding new team members Foster an inclusive, professional, and positive working environment across the department
WHAT YOU BRING
Minimum 4 years of proven leadership and supervisory experience in a Food and Beverage or stewarding operation; management experience is required Strong knowledge of large-scale stewarding department operations WHMIS certification required Computer proficiency including Excel, Word, and email Highly organized, results-driven, and able to work effectively under pressure Solid understanding of workplace health and safety practices Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management is a definite asset Must have valid Canadian work authorization — no visa sponsorship available
