Solution Architect – Manufacturing & Engineering
About the role
The Solution Architect is responsible for designing, aligning, and governing end-to-end technology solutions supporting manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain operations across the enterprise. Acting as a bridge between business and technology teams, this role ensures that solutions are integrated, scalable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. The Solution Architect also guides delivery teams to implement secure, robust, and innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide architectural design across business, application, information, and technology domains
- Define target architectures and roadmaps for PLM, MES, ERP, and OTD ecosystems
- Design end-to-end integration patterns across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain systems
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technology solutions
- Contribute to building and maintaining a reference architecture repository
- Support process harmonization, standardization, and automation initiatives
- Support system modernization, cloud migration, and integration initiatives
- Provide architectural oversight across multiple programs and projects
- Lead workshops and present solution options, impacts, and trade-offs to stakeholders
Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Minimum 10 years of IT experience, including 4+ years in solution architecture in manufacturing/engineering contexts

Strong experience with PLM (Teamcenter, Windchill) and MES (SAP, Siemens)

Solid understanding of ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA), supply chain, and manufacturing flows (OTD, BOM, routing)
-
Familiarity with shop-floor systems

Knowledge of Agile methodologies
-
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
-
Experience working with executive-level stakeholders is an asset
-
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
-
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking with problem-solving abilities
-
Ability to communicate effectively in English with internal and external stakeholders.
CGI provides a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. This range is determined based on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, as well as professional certifications and licenses. Compensation decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.
A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $135,000. This position is currently vacant.
